Why do I need a specialist for my EV repairs?
Your EV is a completely different beast from your traditional vehicle, and therefore needs a completely different approach. They require fully trained technicians to manage specialist safety equipment as these vehicles require respect when handling them due to the high voltage omitted from their onboard battery management system. Sommerville Smash Repairs have designated specialist EV repair bays for the safe handling and repair of your vehicle. These repair bays consist of specialised EV tooling which can only be obtained by an Approved Repairer so these vehicles can be repaired correctly and to an OEM standard.
Did you know that you must be a Tesla Approved repairer to purchase genuine Tesla parts! EV vehicles can be made of different composites including Aluminium, Magnesium and Plastics that require specialist training to repair or replace parts. Our OEM training platform requires our technicians to re qualify for their Steel and Aluminium Welding Certifications every 2 years.
Quite often the access to repair procedures to properly repair an EV vehicle can only be obtained by an accredited collision repairer. As we have obtained that accreditation by Tesla, we have the ability to diagnose your vehicle so you can stay safely on the road after an accident or if required, be triaged so we can further assess any potential damages.
